Psalm 73: 27-28

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. …
But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord GOD my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.

Boys Will Be Boyz

While all the cousins were together this weekend... Scott and I had the privilege to take Eli, Caleb and Josh to a concert/race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was pretty wild! On the way to the track, the boys had fun playing with and watching nDS. It was a cold, cold day here in Charlotte, so the boys had to gear up for a LONG day in the cold... they wore hats, scarves, gloves, layers of clothing, jackets, and we even had blankets! Thanks to one of Mimi's friends, we were able to get tickets that were comp'ed. What a blessing to be able to bring the boys to a great place, a great concert, and to watch them get excited about cars racing around a track! :)

Boys will be boyz!

The concert that we were able to see was the Toby Mac "diverse city" concert, and the Mercy Me concert. Unfortunately we got there a little too late to see Steve Fee. (well we were in the general vicinity, but because we didn't know our way around we didn't make it to the concert on time) The kids wanted to get as close as we could to the stage... so we were in the front row... ya know.. where you can smell their breath, and feel the spray of spit coming from their mouths! Usually there is sweat involved... but because of the cold there wasn't! :) Thank the Lord for that one!

This is the kids sitting on the blankets we brought, before the concert started... look closely, that is the tarp that covers the underneath of the stage! I wasn't kidding when I said we were close!

Mac's band... well they were outstanding! The drummer rocked it out, the guitar players (electric and bass) were awesome, and the lady that sang ... well let's just say she needs to do her own thing, because she far out sings any other that was on stage with her, nuff said!

(drummer man... amazing) (Toby Mac)

(Electric/acoustic Guitar Man and horn man)

(Amazing singer)
On a more serious note... Mercy Me did an outstanding job presenting the gospel. What talented singers, and man do they lead you into the throne room to worship the living KING JESUS! Wow, it was breathtaking! The irony in the thought of a Christian concert, bringing Jesus Christ ALL glory, in the midst of a speedway... people gearing up to get wasted and watch cars go around and around... PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD!! Those who were out, braving the cold that day, waiting for the race to start... they heard to good news! How awesome is that?
(lead singer for Mercy Me)
(Bass Guitar Man)

(Electric Guitar Man)
(Drummer... Scott is so much better than this dude... I wish my hubby could be getting paid to play)
(Keyboard Man)
